HOW IT WORKS
The sequential removal of monosaccharides from the carbohydrate moiety of the hormone results in derivatives that bind to the cell surface receptors but inhibit the hCG-induced accumulation of cAMP. The derivatives, however, still are able to produce steroidogenesis maximally. The data raise the possibility of other mediator(s) of the hormone action in addition to cAMP.

Chorionic gonadotropin is prescribed for the treatment of male hypogonadism (delayed puberty, infertility), and anovulatory infertility.
HOW TO TAKE
It should be taken intramuscularly.
WHEN TO TAKE
As advised by the physician.
Precautions
Should be taken in patients having:
• Cryptorchidism
• Cardiac or renal disease
• Epilepsy
• Migraine or asthma
• Hypersensitivity
• Precocious puberty
• Prostatic carcinoma or other androgenic dependent neoplasm
Report to the physician if the patients are allergic to Chorionic gonadotropin or any other drugs.
Side Effects
Report to the physician immediately if the patients are having any of these following symptoms:
• Headache
• Irritability
• Restlessness
• Depression
• Fatigue
• Oedema
• Precocious puberty
• Gynaecomastia
• Pain at injection site
• Enlargement of preexisting ovarian cysts and possible rupture
• Arterial thromboembolism
• Shock
• Abdominal pain
• Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome
Alcohol Interaction
Consumption of alcohol is not advisable.
